I’m very excited to share the news that my short story was selected to be included in the very first Romance Writers of America anthology! The submission guidelines specified that the story should be between 5,000 – 7,000 words and touch on the theme of ‘Wrong Number’. As you can imagine, this was quite a challenge. My first thought was: How do you write a historical that involves a wrong number? In the end, I didn’t. I thought I was up to the challenge but since I found out about the submission call very late, I was stumped. So I switched gears and tried my hand at a contemporary romance set in Southern California.

Hopefully, you’ll be reading my first contemporary very soon. I have no idea when the anthology will be released but look back here for updates. This is the official announcement copied from RWA.org. I can’t wait to read the other stories (especially the historicals to see how they did it!).

From RWA.org:

Romance Writers of America (RWA) and number one New York Times best-selling author (and anthology editor) Sylvia Day are proud to reveal the names of the authors whose stories will be featured in RWA’s first anthology.

The stories in the anthology range from contemporary to historical to paranormal, young adult, romantic suspense, and inspirational romance. They all feature creative use of the theme “wrong number” and showcase the diversity of the romance genre. Thank you to everyone who submitted a story. We wish we could have accepted them all!
